Multiple sclerosis
AMultiple Sclerosis (MS) it is an autoimmune disease (when body cells attack other body cells, in this case, they attack neurons), which develops from a genetic predisposition.
It frequently occurs in the form of outbreaks, affecting nervous structures of the brain and spinal cord, and may result in neurological deficits with partial or complete recovery.
OTreatment of Multiple Sclerosis has undergone great advances in recent years, with drug strategies for each stage of the disease and increasingly promising results, both in the prevention of outbreaks and in the control of associated symptoms. Multidisciplinary follow-up, with physiotherapy, speech therapy, psychology, occupational therapy is fundamental.
Youneurological signs, can occur in the form of weakness in a limb (arms and legs), decreased sensitivity (such as tingling and numbness), difficulty in coordination (imbalances), or difficulty walking.
In patients with MS, it is also common to develop symptoms such asfatigue, tiredness or indisposition, as well as depression, anxiety and body aches.
